When we use through-beam photoelectric sensors, malfunction occasionally occurs. What causes this and how can it be corrected?
The optical axis may have changed because of vibration or shock. If your sensors have a sensitivity adjuster, the following steps will adjust the optical axis.
1. Set the sensitivity adjuster halfway between minimum and maximum.
2. a. adjust the optical axes of the emitter and receiver at that sensitivity, then b. move the emitter up and down and to the left and right to adjust it to the centre of the angle range for receiving light, then c. move the receiver up and down and to the left and right to adjust it to the centre of the angle range for receiving light.
3. Set the sensitivity adjuster to maximum.
If your through-beam sensors don’t have a sensitivity adjuster, use a slit to attenuate the light.
