Can any good quality waterproof inductive proximity sensor cable be used on a subsea proximity sensor?

The cable you use needs to be compatible for the environment it's going to be used in. So, water pressure, salt, temperature etc must be taken into account. For reliable operation always select a suitably rated cable, as there's a big difference between watertight and waterproof.
