What is the difference between a waterproof and watertight inductive proximity sensor?

Waterproof means not affected by water, and watertight means holding water in or out, though, some manufacturers may have different definitions to this.

A sensor that’s used in the rain onshore may not work deep underwater offshore, so always check compatibility before use.
