Can I Use an External Emulation Probe With My 16600/700?

The Emulation Probe is virtually identical to an Emulation Module. The primary difference is that the Emulation Module is resident in the 16700 system frame. Either can be used with the 16600/700 series logic analysis systems providing there is LAN access. The Icon for the Emulation Module is found near the top-center of the Logic Analyzer System window. This Icon is easily identified because it resembles a traffic signal. To use the Emulation Module, simply click the mouse on this Icon. The Emulation Module Tool will then be loaded on the workspace. The Icon for the emulation probe is found in the Tool Bar along the left hand side of the workspace window in the region labeled "Emul Probes." The Icon looks much like a drawing of the emulation probe. To use the Emulation Probe, simply drag this Icon onto the workspace. Before beginning a session with the probe, you must configure the LAN address of the probe. A right mouse click on the Icon will bring up a menu. Select Init Probe LAN Addresses.... A new window will appear. Type in the Link Layer Address (LLA), the IP address of the probe and the Gateway address where indicated. Follow any screen instructions that appear. You should now be able to access the Emulation Probe.
