A consequence of this is that the oscilloscope can never remain powered off when input power is present.  Any time a user turns the unit off with the power button or by clicking “Shut down” from the Windows Start menu, it will reboot instead of powering off.  Unchecking the “Auto Power On” box allows the unit to power off normally, as one would expect.
