Can I disable time tag storage in the 16900-series logic analyzer?

In the 16900 environment, time tag storage is always on and it cannot be disabled. The memory space for time tag storage comes from unused acquisition memory, which can come from either unused channels or lower-than-maximum memory depth. By default, the Keysight Logic Analyzer application makes all pod pairs of a module available for capturing data and sets the memory depth to half of the total acquisition memory. Certain high-speed state acquisition modes require one pod (17 channels) or pod pair (34 channels) to be reserved for time tag storage. For example, the 16910A/11A modules require an unassigned pod pair for 450 MHz state mode operation, and the 16950A module requires an unassigned pod pair for 600 MHz state mode operation. To manually control which pod pairs are reserved for time tag storage, click Setup | Pod Assignment. The Pod Assignment dialog box will show whether each pod pair is available or reserved. You can change the status of any pod pair, but if you leave no pod pair reserved, you may force the analyzer to reduce its acquisition speed or memory depth.
