Can I do Noise Figure Measurements below 10 MHz with the PSA Series Spectrum Analyzer?

Yes, you can make noise figure measurements with the PSA Series Spectrum Analyzer with (Option 219) between 200 kHz and 10 MHz. Keysight does not offer noise sources below 10 MHz, so to make this measurement, you will need to use the noise sources from other suppliers. NoiseWave has recently introduced “NS-CS” Series noise sources covering 10 kHz to 2 GHz. The NoiseWave stated that these products are compatible with Keysight noise figure test equipment. For more information please check http://www.noisewave.com/ Note that Keysight does not re-sell or offer technical support to these products. All questions on their technical issues, sales, and support need to be directed to the vendor. To estimate the measurement uncertainty from using the these noise sources and your device-under-test, you may use the “Noise Figure Measurement Uncertainty Calculator”.
