Can I return readings from the 34980A's memory during a scan (data logging application)?
Whenever the 34980A makes measurements during a scan, it stores the readings, including channel values, time stamps, etc, in its internal memory. While it is scanning and storing the readings, they can be removed using: DATA:REMove? < num_rdgs > where "" are the number of readings to be removed (e.g., 1 for 1 reading, etc). The command removes and returns the selected number of readings. NOTE: The DATA:REMove? command will immediately error out if the requested number of readings are not in memory. The INIT command takes several milliseconds to complete before the DMM starts making measurements. You can wait or use the DATA:POINts? query command to check if the required number of readings are available in the 34980A memory.
