Can I set up a voltage slew rate on my N8900 Series Auto-ranging DC power supply?
Can I set up a voltage slew rate on my N8900 Series Auto-ranging DC power supply?
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)SummaryAn external arbitrary waveform generator could be used to set a slew rate since the N8900 Series has an analog input connector but not an internal programmable slew rate feature.QuestionCan I set up a voltage slew rate on my N8900 Series Auto-ranging DC power supply?AnswerThe N8900A Auto-ranging DC Power Supply Series does not offer a programmable slew rate from either its front panel or via remote control commands using the GPIB, LAN, or USB interface. However, there is a 15-pin D-sub connector labeled Analog on the N8900 Series rear panel that can be used to externally control the voltage output of the supply with either a 0 to 10 V or 0 to 5 V external analog input signal. For example, this input signal could be from the output of an arbitrary waveform generator configured to ramp up (or down) the output voltage level of the supply. The Keysight 33500 or 33600 TrueForm Series of Waveform Generators could be used to set up an arbitrary waveform sequence. The ramp segment of this sequence would determine the slew rate.
