Can I set a measurement interval on a 34401A?
The measurement interval of the 34401A cannot be set automatically. It may be done using an external trigger (EXT TRIG port for a TTL signal, or a BUS trigger if programming) or using trigger delay. When receiving a trigger (or when the 34401A automatically generates its own trigger), the 34401A waits makes a measurement with the specified resolution. An automatic delay is inserted between the trigger and the sample to allow for settling before making a measurement. Resolution, autozero, math functions, display update, and data transfer will be added to the delay and may add to the variability of readings. For more consistency, turn off all unnecessary operations. The default trigger delay is automatic and is determined by function, range, integration time, and ac filter setting. The trigger delay may be changed from the front panel TRIG menu or with the command TRIG:DEL. The specified trigger delay is inserted after each trigger and before the reading is taken. If the multimeter is configured to take more than one reading per trigger (sample count > 1), the specified delay is inserted before each reading.
