What is remote sense?

Remote sense, or four-wire sense, is a testing method that allows for more accurate voltage measurements. Traditional two-wire measurements only use a “HI” and “LO” lead which both sources current and measures voltage on the same two leads. Because of this, the lead resistance is added to the measurement skewing results. In a four-wire sense system, there are both source and sense HI and LO leads. Because of this, there are separate paths for sourcing current and for measuring voltage. As such, the lead resistance isn’t added to the measurement.
